Aircraft Perfomance Report

This paper analyses three aircrafts using multiple performance metrics, revealing key characteristics and their wider impact on the aviation industry. Focusing on point performance parameters, specifically specific air Range (SAR) has allowed us to gauge the environmental impact of each aircraft. This paper examines the aircrafts flight profile through its payload range chart, whilst the flight envelope is used to determine its structural limits. Numerical iteration and mathematical modelling are the primary tools used within this analysis; however certain engineering judgements challenge the robustness of this model. Whilst these assumptions limited the accuracy of results obtained, a first-order approximation could be achieved using the methods in this research paper. This approximation allows for a deeper understanding of each aircrafts performance, allowing us to identify their key features and implications on the economical and environmental sustainability of the aviation industry.
